Dermaplane
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves gently exfoliating the top layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair ("peach fuzz") from the face using a sterile surgical scalpel. This process reveals smoother, brighter skin underneath and can improve the absorption of skincare products, enhance makeup application, and promote a more youthful glowing appearance.
During a dermaplaning session, a trained professional will hold the skin taut and carefully glide the scalpel at a 45-degree angle across the surface. The procedure is typically painless and takes about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
Benefits of dermaplaning include:
Smoother Skin Texture: Removes dead skin cells for a polished look.
Increased Product Absorption: Allows serums and moisturizers to penetrate more effectively.
Brighter Complexion: Helps to even out skin tone and enhance radiance.
Reduced Appearance of Fine Lines: Can temporarily minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
Aftercare is important; it's recommended to avoid sun exposure, harsh skincare products, and heavy makeup for a short period following the treatment. Results are usually immediate, with smoother, more glowing skin visible right after the procedure. However, it's advisable to consult with a skincare professional to determine if dermaplaning is suitable for your skin type.
